Jason has a new obsession. It’s Jesus. I guess that is a good obsession. Jason talks about Jesus all the time.
Me: I love you, Jason.
Jason: Jesus loves me too.
Me: I’m glad you like to read books.
Jason: Yeah, Jesus likes to read books too.
Me: I’m proud of you for sharing your toys.
Jason: I’m going to share with Jesus because Jesus loves toys.
Jason: Butthead!
Me: It is not OK to say “Butthead.”
Jason: Jesus says “Butthead.” Jesus likes to say that word a lot.
Makes you wonder what exactly goes on in Sunday School.
It didn’t help that Jason’s Children in Worship class acted out the Zaccheus story last Sunday. Jason got to be Jesus. The rest of the day, he went around announcing, “I am Jesus!” Soon that became, “I am God!” Hmmm.
Jason used to fall asleep the minute his head hit the pillow. But lately he gets squirrely at bedtime. He says that he is feeling “nervous” because he “had too much sugar.” We don’t usually let him have sugar after 3 p.m. so I don’t think that is it.
On the way home from school today this is what Brendan was telling Jason: “You may not want to hear this but you probably shouldn’t pull the string on your sock because that cuts off your circulation which means your sock won’t stay up. Circulation is what makes it stay up and if you keep pulling it then it will fall down. It’s a very complicated thing and I’m doing my best to explain it to you but I still think you don’t understand.” Which is probably true since Jason is giving him a blank look. That may also have to do with the fact that Jason is sick again. He is on an every other week rotation, apparently. It always happens to fall on our every other week Bible study so we have missed that the last three times. He has a cough, goopey eye and is congested. He has a lot of “bless yous” which he calls sneezes. I think it would be really cool if a week would pass with no one in our household sick. Jason is on antibiotics again and hopefully this is the end of our sick season.

But I thought that I was Jesus! I hope Jason feels better soon. You all deserve a break!
